Why the Mary Workshop?

Children grow up at kitchen tables. Just think of the many things that happen at your kitchen table: holiday meals, homework, injury treatment, baking bread or cookies, birthday parties, driving permit study-ing, friendships, heartbreak. That piece of furniture is the heart of the home.

Jesus grew up at a kitchen table. He learned how to feed himself, how to say, ‘please’ and ’thank you,’ how to listen to and groan at his Dad’s jokes, how to say blessings before and after dinner, how to live and love within a human family.

God chose which kitchen table his son would be raised around.

He could have chosen mine. He didn’t.

He could have chosen yours. He didn’t.

He chose Mary’s kitchen table. He chose Joseph’s kitchen table.

Why?

What is it about that table that God wanted His son to experience?

I am on a mission to find out. What made Mary’s kitchen table THE kitchen table?
And I want to share it with you…. because home is for growing.

I want to take the lessons of Mary’s kitchen table and bring them to my kitchen table, so that my family can grow like Mary’s family grew. I want to share it with you so that you can take those lessons to your kitchen table.

Joseph had a workshop, where Jesus learned the lessons of manhood and manual labor.

Mary had a workshop also…. her kitchen table.

Welcome to the Mary Workshop.
